The press should maintain protected copies of final PDF/EPUB, cover assets, metadata, DOI mappings, contracts and revision history. Backups must be tested and kept off the production server where feasible. File integrity, recoverability, migration from obsolete formats and authenticated access to private submissions should be reviewed periodically. The publisher must separately arrange any formal third-party preservation service before claiming participation.
